Napoli and Chelsea are reportedly in talks over a potential swap deal involving Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen. The proposed deal would see Osimhen move to Chelsea in a transaction that values him below his €130 million release clause.
In exchange, Napoli’s manager, Antonio Conte, is said to be interested in acquiring Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea's midfielder Cesare Casadei. Additionally, Napoli is expected to receive a significant cash payment of £39 million as part of the deal.
Osimhen, who netted 15 goals in Serie A last season, is keen to test his skills in the Premier League, and Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, appears eager to secure the Nigerian striker, especially after the failed transfer of Samu Omorodion to Stamford Bridge.
While there have been rumors of Osimhen being linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea seems to be leading the race for his signature. However, if the swap deal materializes, it would mark a considerable financial hit for Chelsea, as they would be parting with players initially worth £114.5 million, along with additional cash.
This potential move comes after Chelsea’s significant spending spree under owner Todd Boehly, which has seen the club invest over £1.114 billion in players in just two years.
