NIN/SIM Linkage: September Deadline Remains Firm – NIMC

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has reaffirmed that the September 14 deadline set by the Federal Government for linking the National Identification Number (NIN) with Subscribers’ Identity Modules (SIM) is firmly in place.

According to NIMC, all equipment and personnel at registration centers both within Nigeria and abroad are functioning efficiently to handle enrollment, verification, authentication, and data modifications.

Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, stated that the Commission's services are operating smoothly to meet the NIN-SIM linkage deadline.

The statement highlighted that all of NIMC's over 10,000 enrollment centers across the nation and internationally remain open for NIN registration. Nigerians and legal residents are encouraged to visit these centers to obtain their NIN.

With the September 14, 2024, deadline approaching, NIMC assured that the process for data modification is also available via the NIMC Self-Service portal, subject to terms and conditions.

NIN holders and applicants can seek information about enrollment centers, procedures for data modifications, and other inquiries through the NIMC website at www.nimc.gov.ng.

The Commission emphasizes its strict stance against extortion and unethical practices, affirming that NIN enrollment is free of charge. Any issues related to extortion or misconduct should be reported to nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng or via mobile at 07002255646.

Dr. Adegoke reiterated NIMC's dedication to delivering top-quality identity management services to Nigerians and legal residents. see more
