The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has refuted reports claiming that its President, Joe Ajaero, disregarded an invitation from the Department of State Services (DSS) prior to his recent arrest.
In a statement released by the NLC’s Head of Information, Benson Upah, it was clarified that Ajaero had engaged in discussions with the DSS Director-General before his arrest. Ajaero had been assured of receiving a 48-hour notice for a scheduled visit with the DSS.
The statement emphasized that Ajaero had informed the DSS of his upcoming travel plans and had agreed to reschedule the visit for September 13, following his return.
The NLC dismissed the reports of Ajaero ignoring the DSS as false and misleading, stressing that Ajaero is a law-abiding leader and would not evade any lawful invitation. see more
