How Actress, Pat Ugwu, died at 35 years after losing her father

Nollywood actress Patience Ugwu, popularly known as Pat Ugwu, has passed away at the age of 35.

Her colleagues confirmed the tragic news on Wednesday, though the exact cause of her death remains undisclosed.

Actor Emeka Okoye expressed his grief on Instagram, writing, “Rest in peace, sis. Pat Ugwu. @patpat_ugwu, so we no get to work again? Death, why? God, please. Rest in peace, PAT. May your soul rest in the bosom of the Lord.”

Another actor, Kevin Mike, also mourned her passing, stating, “Chai, just woke up this morning to hear the death of one of our crew and casts @patpat_ugwu. Rest in peace, dear.”

Originally from Umuogbu Itchi in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State, Pat Ugwu had previously suffered a personal loss when her father, Evaristus Ugwu, passed away in September 2021 at the age of 76. She shared her sorrow on Instagram, saying, “My biggest nightmare was losing my father. I lost my dad. Right now, I am in such pain that no one can feel. Dad, you went away. God eased your pain and broke my heart.”

Reflecting on her father’s passing, she posted again in May 2022, six months after his burial, writing, “It’s hard to believe six months have already passed, Dad. How are you doing? It’s been six months already.”

Now, three years and four months after her father’s passing, Pat Ugwu will be laid to rest on Friday, February 7, 2025. A wake will be held the day before, on Thursday, February 6, at her father’s residence.
