Nigerian singer Portable has called for a fearless lawyer, mentioning human rights activist Femi Falana, to support him in his ongoing legal battle with the Ogun State government.
The dispute arose when officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority attempted to seal his bar due to missing permits and improper air space. However, the situation escalated when Portable was accused of assaulting the officials.
Following the incident, nine of his associates were arrested and arraigned on multiple charges, including obstruction, assault, and intent to cause harm. They were granted bail at ₦5 million each, with strict surety conditions. The case has been adjourned to March 17.
In an Instagram post, Portable praised Falana for his dedication to justice and described him as a "man of the people." He also recently appealed to President Bola Tinubu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for intervention and forgiveness.
